The Summer and Fall are popular times of the year to pop “the big question”. It gives soon-to-be brides a year to plan their wedding, and most importantly, find the perfect bridal outfit. Irene Mahmud, photographer and former SAPNA model, put together a beautiful lookbook of bridal styles from Taj Cottage.  As desi fashion and culture takes the west by storm, we are posting our first ever photo shoot with a non-desi model! It has been one of our pillars to focus on the beauty of the desi woman. Yet, as the world opens their arms to our culture. We are hugging back, by showing that any woman can appreciate the beauty and decadence of desi fashion.

Many women are opting to wear a gown instead of the traditional lengha or sari. This bridal gown in satin has an overlay of net. It has a separate wrap, worn on top, which is beautifully embroidered with pearls, sequins and stones.

You too can have a “white wedding”. The traditional red or blue bridal outfit is being passed up for white fusion looks! This bridal gown is a designer masterpiece in satin with net overlay, embroidered with ribbon, sequins and beads. It has a separate net jacket and scarf.

A traditional lengha can be played up with modern hair and makeup to make you look filmi sexy on your big night. This captivating lehnga choli in dark green and maroon color has intricate embroidery in dull gold resham, zari and sequins. This magnificent necklace, with earrings and tikka, is studded with diamond accent stones, and the hanging beads make it dazzle.

Did you love the retro pink outfit in Om Shanti Om? This is the modern day take on getting that vintage appeal. The bridal lehnga in hot pink is made of pure banarasi georgette. It is fitted at the waistm, with kalis at the bottom. The beautiful embroidery is done in matte gold sequins, stones, and beads. The blouse is made of silk, embroidered in the front with butties at the back.

Orange is a color that flatters darker skin stones. This designer bridal lehnga in orange is made of pure banarasi georgette. The lehnga is fitted from the top and has kalis at the bottom. It is embroidered from front and back, at the waist, and at the bottom, with dull gold color sequins, stones and zardosi . The blouse has intricate embroidery in front and butties at the back.
