Desi Bridal Fashion Lookbook

The Summer and Fall are popular times of the year to pop “the big question”. It gives soon-to-be brides a year to plan their wedding, and most importantly, find the perfect bridal outfit. Irene Mahmud, photographer and former SAPNA model, put together a beautiful lookbook of bridal styles from Taj Cottage.  As desi fashion and culture takes the west by storm, we are posting our first ever photo shoot with a non-desi model! It has been one of our pillars to focus on the beauty of the desi woman. Yet, as the world opens their arms to our culture. We are hugging back, by showing that any woman can appreciate the beauty and decadence of desi fashion.

    Guess what? FYI, the model isn’t white. I love the work and I love the model. Her multi-racial look carries the clothes very nicely and shows that these are fashions for everyone, not simply desi fashions.
